Movado is a budget-friendly Swiss watchmaker that has created numerous famous watch styles. The brand was formed in the year 1881 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, under the name LAI Ditescheim & Freres SA. The brand name was however changed to Movado in the year 1905, and it was purchased by the American corporation North American Watch Corp in 1983.
